Main St 5E3 Tweed Deluxe
A 1950s tweed 5E3 amp, modeled component by component, with its own speaker and cabinet.
Main St 5E3 is a circuit-level simulation of the classic tweed 5E3: every tube, transformer and capacitor is calculated in real time, not approximated with curves. The tubes react to how hard you hit the input, the 5Y3 rectifier sags when you dig in, and the power amp sees the real speaker as its load. It cleans up with your guitar's volume knob and breaks up the way the real amp does.
THE AMP
- Two channels (Normal and Bright) with their volumes and the shared tone control, as on the original.
- All four input jacks (Hi and Lo on each channel), plus the jumper: link the other channel to its Hi or Lo input.
- 12AY7 preamp, cathodyne phase inverter, push-pull 6V6 power stage, 5Y3 rectifier with sag.
- Mods: lead mod, and a three-position switch for the V2A cathode (stock / no bypass / negative feedback).
THE CABINET
- Our own impulse responses of a 12" alnico speaker in a tweed cabinet.
- Four microphones (SM57, SM94, R121, MD421) in four positions: cap, cap edge, cone, cone edge.
- One or two mics, with blend, pan and phase, plus classic mic pairs ready to go.
- Direct output (no cabinet) for your own IRs or a real cab.
ALSO INCLUDED
- Built-in tuner.
- Six factory presets, plus your own (save, rename, import).
- An input meter in volts, so you can set the level your guitar would really send to the amp.
- 1x, 2x or 4x oversampling. Resizable window.
FORMATS
Windows (VST3, standalone), macOS (VST3, AU, standalone; Intel and Apple Silicon), Linux (VST3, standalone). 64-bit. Mono input.
