My uncle took one look at these and said they reminded him of where Tolkien’s elves came from. Not having come up with anything more fitting myself, I decided to take his advice.

The pattern assumes familiarity with cabling and basic cuff-down sock construction techniques. It will go a lot faster if you know how to work cables without a cable needle - I have not included a tutorial for this in the pattern since there are a number of good ones, such as this one, already available. The cable pattern is currently provided only in charted form.

You'll want to have approximately 100 g of fingering weight yarn available, or possibly a bit more for the extra large size.

Four sizes are included:

Small (56 stitch cuff, to fit approximately 7 inch foot)

Medium (64 stitch cuff, to fit approximately 8 inch foot)

Large (72 stitch cuff, to fit approximately 9 inch foot)

Extra Large (80 stitch cuff, to fit approximately 10 inch foot)

These fit a bit tighter than a stockinette sock with the same stitch count, but the large amount of stockinette makes the fit fairly forgiving.

If you’re printing the pattern in black and white, you’ll want to make note of the highlighted columns on the charts.
