Who says a baby dress has to be pink? The Violetta Dress is a top, down quick to knit up baby/toddler dress with an optional bow and a little button in back. Seed stitch edges give it a simple but finished look and it would look great in any color of the rainbow.
Most fingering weight yarns will work well but it was designed in Gigi Bonin yarn, in the color way Vinny Van G. which is available here and here.
It would also look great in a speckled yarn or a soft tonal, and under a little cardigan as well!
Note: This was published in 2015 and removed last year after a poor choice in design names was used. It's been renamed, a schematic has been added, and it's is ready for some more babies to enjoy it! 510 (565, 615, 725, 800) fingering weight yarn; shown in Gigi Bonin Vinny Van G. (80% superwash merino, 20% Nylon, 400 yards per 100g. The current base is available above; the MCN that this was originally designed in is no longer available.)
US 4/3.5 mm 16”/40 cm circular needle and set of DPNs or circular needle longer than 32” if doing magic loop) or size needed to attain gauge)
Two ½”/1 cm diameter buttons
5 stitch markers
