Book Ends is a most peculiar little bookshop. Not only did it literally appear overnight in a small North Yorkshire town, all the macabre books on its shelves are unfinished and open-ended, leaving readers to create their own ending…in more ways than one.

But books can't kill people. Can they? Suicide-by-book – how can that even be a thing?

Sergeant Simon Pledge, on compassionate leave and trying to drink himself to death for his own jilted reasons, is now charged with finding out why books are ending lives faster than he can end his own.
