 Houss Sock pattern designed by Lesley Smith, originally featured in our book Jamieson & Smith A Shetland Story. They are knit using Shetland Heritage held doubled. Using traditional motifs and colours these socks are both classic and cosy.

Yarn B Auld Gold x 2

Yarn C Berry Red x 1

NEEDLES

(always use the right size for you to get the specified tension)

3.5mm (US 4) needles: instructions are given for (20cm/8”) DPNs, though the pattern is easily adapted for your preferred method of small-circumference knitting

Stitch marker, waste yarn for afterthought heel placement

31 sts x 33 rows = 10cm/4” in Fair Isle pattern, blocked
