The Land I Live On
I am not a professional writer, nor did I ever choose words to craft literature; yet when adversity overwhelms us, it leaves no choice but to cry out through pen and paper. I decided to pull these lines from the depths of my soul to wander the world, so that everyone might pause, even for a brief moment, and bear witness to the scale of our daily struggle and the silent battles we fought, face to face, with the impossible.
My goal was not to record yet another tragedy to be added to the archives of loss. Rather, I wanted to open a back door into our inner selves, to describe how a human being lives when suddenly stripped of every possession and all stability, and how life continues to beat beneath the weight of conditions that would force mountains to bow.
In these lines, you will read of silent heartbreaks, of a will born from the womb of nothingness, and of clinging to light when darkness closes in from every direction. This is our noble story as it truly is, unvarnished and unadorned, a candid testament that though our bodies may be exhausted, living souls refuse to fall, holding fast to the timeless conviction that on this earth, there is that which is worth living for.
