HEMATITE

Hematite is an OTT-style 3-band compressor, at zero latency or in linear phase. In each band it brings the loud parts down and the quiet parts up, for the dense, detailed OTT sound or just a little glue.

FEATURES:

Dynamics //

Each band has two thresholds: above the upper one the sound is pushed down, below the lower one it's lifted. Drag them on the screen and watch every band being squeezed between them. A ratio under 1:1 expands instead, down to a gate.

Styles //

Classic is matched to Xfer OTT by measurement. Punchy lets hits through before it cuts them. Smooth lets go slower after long loud stretches.

Bands //

Split the sound into low, mid and high bands at 12, 24 or 48 dB/oct. Drag the crossovers and each band's gain on the spectrum, and click a band to solo it.

Linear Phase //

Splits the bands without turning their phase, for a clean low end. It adds 43 ms of latency, which your DAW compensates.

Mid/Side //

Compress the mid and the side separately, each with its own bands and settings.

Lookahead //

Starts each band's cuts early, so hits don't overshoot.

Clip //

A clipper after the compressor, from soft to hard, with 1:1 to keep the level and oversampling up to 4x.
