This shawl was literally born on the road home from a family vacation to Maine this summer. We stopped in at Heavenly Yarns in Belfast, Maine on a rainy day to squish the local yarn and found these lovely colors from Seven Sisters Arts. I always love bringing home a skein or two from a local dyer when I get the chance to travel. It's really the best souvenir in my opinion. While we were chatting with the shop owner my friends half jokingly said that I should design something for us to knit on the way home, since we always pick a project together to make. I thought "why not" and off we went. We all agreed that we should try to capture the beautiful scenery that we had spent all week admiring with its rocky shorelines and swirling waters and came up with this delightful shawl. I hope that you like it!
