TAGLINE: An offline lyric writing app with syllable counts, rhymes and setlists.

DESCRIPTION

This is an alpha: the first public release. Everything listed below works and has been tested on Windows, and it will keep improving with your feedback.

A focused app for writing song lyrics, built for metal and heavy music but useful for any style. Quill runs offline on your Windows computer and saves as you type.

Write songs in sections, see a syllable count and rhyme letter beside every line, tag vocal styles, find rhymes, and put songs in running order for a set or an album. Syllable counts are estimates from English spelling and are usually right; unusual words and names can be off.

Songs save in your Documents folder with a daily backup copy. What you write is yours: Cinderhall claims no rights in your lyrics.

- Undo and redo for everything; focus mode

- Works offline: no account, no subscription, no data collected

NOTE FOR WINDOWS

The installer is not code-signed yet, so Windows SmartScreen may show "Windows protected your PC". Click "More info", then "Run anyway". SHA-256 checksums are included (SHA256SUMS.txt) so you can verify the download.

Cinderhall is one person: Jonathan Lachance, a metal musician and developer in Québec. I build the tools I wanted for my own songs: MIDI packs, plugins and apps for metal songwriters. Whatever you choose to pay goes straight into making them better. Pay once, and every future update is yours free.
