Blue-Batik Pocket Notebook (Dot grid, staple binding, ink-friendly)

An everyday notebook that is a pleasure to see, touch, and write in.

This is my second experiment with this beautiful "Lokta" batik paper from Hiromi Paper in L.A. It's handmade in Nepal using bark of the Daphne plant which grows in the Himalayan foothills. There is something about the layers of blue color they achieve with the batik wax-resist dyeing that draws in your attention, both sight and feel.

I wasn't sure if I'd prefer a pamphlet stitch or stapled binding, so I made both options! Take your pick.

I accented it with bright orange insert, with a phrase from Lafkadio Hearn on the cover to remind you to embrace the weird and wonderful in your life.
