When we are young and we do something wrong, we are told to apologise to the person wronged. I don't think I have met a single person who was also taught to apologise when the person you have wronged is you! As a result of this, we treat ourselves badly time and time again, and expect ourselves to just get over and get on with it. Learning to apologise to yourself is a great skill to master that helps reprogramme the way you relate to yourself, which in turn enhances the way you treat and see yourself.
