The pattern for a crochet wall decor.
Heart Wall Decor is made using a free-form corner to corner crochet (C2C). You’ll crochet a heart-shaped piece and then add a metal hoop around it.
This pattern includes 2 designs for the heart, charts and written instructions for both are provided.
This is a good pattern to introduce you to free-form corner to corner crochet, you can explore more shapes with C2C and not only stay ‘in the box’ with squares or rectangles of classic C2C.
Skills:
You’ll need to know basic crochet: chain, slip stitch, single crochet, double crochet, and the basics of corner to corner (C2C) method.
Size: circle 12” in diameter
Materials:
Yarn: about 100 yds (90 m) for the main color and 50 to 75 yds (45 - 65 m) depending on design for the contrast color of worsted weight yarn
Hooks: H (5 mm) and G (4 mm)
Notions and extras: tapestry needle, metal hoop 12” (30 cm) diameter
Gauge: 7 x 7 C2C blocks = 4” (10 cm)
