What Does it Mean to Believe

The word " believe " has been so perverted that the meaning has been reduced to nothing more than a mental assent. The only way anyone can think that definition is correct is to be totally ignorant of what the Bible really teaches, or gullible enough to believe anything they are told. They are willing to risk their entire eternal soul on something they have been told, without confirming it for themselves out of the Word of God. They are willing to equate their level of belief with the devil himself, because “the devils believe and tremble,’ and they are not a candidate for salvation. This is a Heaven or Heck issue; you better do what Jesus said: “He that believeth on me, as the scripture hath said” (John 7:38).
