Chara Shawl

Chara is part of the Chart Star Collection. If you are proficient with charts, this shawl will be a breeze for you. If not, it’s time to learn! Chara is worked top down with 4 increases on the RS and 2 increases on the WS in order to achieve a cozy and very wearable winged triangle shape. Done up in four skeins of deliciously soft bulky yarn from Sweet Georgia, it makes a generous shawl that wraps you up good and cozy for chilly days. The bulky gauge is just right for a quick knit and just right for leaning how to read flat charts for top-down shawls. Chara is named after a star, and can be purchased individually for $7.00 USD or as part of the Chart Star collection.

YARN (Bulky): Sweet Georgia, Superwash Soft (80% superwash merino, 20% nylon; 109 yds [100 m] / 3.5 oz [100 g]): Oxblood, 4 skeins 

GAUGE: 10 sts and 14 rows = 4" [10 cm] in blocked stockinette

NEEDLES: US 10_ [6.5 mm]; adjust needle size to achieve gauge

SIZING: 70” [178 cm] wide and 26” [66 cm] deep after blocking
