Finding New Paths

Finding New Paths is a fun snood/cowl worked in a squishy stitch pattern that looks much more complex than it actually is.

The colorwork is made with slipped stitches, using only one color at a time.

Slipped stitches combined with cables create a soft, comfy cowl that is perfect for a walk in the mountains also because it’s long enough to be used as a hood when the temperature falls.

The colors remind me of paths in the woods, covered in colorful leaves between the trees.

This snood is worked seamlessly from the top down, starting from the circumference around the head down to the shoulders, working in the round. When the right length is reached, the work is divided in two parts, a Front and a Back, which are then worked flat and separately. This creates a split that makes the snood more comfortable to wear.

25 stitches and 32 rows = 10x10 cm (4”x4”) in cabled stitch pattern, measured after blocking.
