St Patricks Day Art Lesson Shamrock Art Project Art Activity March Art Activity
This Shamrock Mixed Media Art Lesson is a St. Patrick's Day art project for elementary students. Students create a kawaii-style shamrock using watercolor, tempera paint, salt texture, collage and bold line, and the finished pieces make a bright March bulletin board display.
The lesson teaches the Elements of Art (line, shape, color, texture, value, space and form) and guides students step by step through drawing, painting, layering and collage. Students start with a textured blue watercolor background using salt, draw a shamrock from heart-based shapes, refine the line weight with black marker and add expressive kawaii-style features. The project builds from drawing to painting to collage.
