New cover Mistakenly Departed (signed copy)
Aiden has always been a little ray of pitch black. The kind of person who says exactly the wrong thing at exactly the right moment, just to watch people's expressions curdle. Strange looks are his love language, and a personal bubble roughly the size of a football field keeps the world at a comfortable distance. That's exactly how he likes it.
But this Halloween, Aiden's determined to have the night of his life. It starts at Haven's local graveyard with a séance that goes absolutely nowhere and somehow ends with him standing inside a funeral home that has absolutely no business being open on Halloween night. One peculiar turn of events leads to another, and panic? Panic is not on the agenda. Definitely not. He's fine. Totally fine.
Calder is a glass-half-full kind of vampire. Which, given the centuries he's had to practice, says a lot about his disposition. He goes with the flow, avoids making waves, and generally tries to find the silver lining in any given situation. The problem is, when you've been alive long enough, the flow starts to feel like standing water. Same dark nights, different decades. He's been stuck in a rut for the better part of a century, and he's starting to feel it.
He's already running late for Marcus's Halloween party. His friend couldn't drop off his ring on time, because of course he couldn't, and yes, he's fully aware of how cliché it is to dress as a vampire when you are a vampire. But it makes it easier to hide the blood, so here they are.
He isn't expecting tonight to be any different from the last hundred or so Halloweens.
He also isn't expecting Aiden.
When a panic-fueled decision goes spectacularly, catastrophically wrong, Calder finds himself racing to be someone's unlikely knight in shining armor. The question is whether he'll get there before time runs out and whether one grumpy, pitch-black little ray of sunshine might just be exactly what a centuries-old vampire needed to shake off a hundred years of sameness.
Will there be love at first bite?
