Complex Two-Page Saccade Tool (Letters & Numbers with Colour Coding)
This tool builds directly on the basic two-page saccade format, but introduces a higher level of complexity through a randomised colour pattern layered over letters and numbers. The added colour dimension allows tasks to move beyond simple sequencing into rule-based visual processing and cognitive control .
In addition to training saccadic accuracy and visual attention, this version strongly engages executive function, response inhibition, and cognitive flexibility. By assigning rules based on colour (rather than symbol identity), the tool can be used as a Stroop-style task, forcing the brain to suppress automatic responses and select the correct target under increased cognitive load.
Like the basic version, the pages can be positioned on the wall, floor, table, or at varying distances and orientations, and seamlessly integrated into balance, coordination, exercise, or sport-specific drills. This layering challenges the nervous system to maintain precise eye movements while managing competing information streams and physical demands.
Through repeated, rule-driven exposure, the tool leverages activity-dependent neuroplasticity to improve eye–brain efficiency, processing speed, and adaptability—skills that are essential for complex environments, return-to-play scenarios, and high-level performance.
