"No way... You're telling me you shrunk real people with that thing? Where did they come from?" Sarah asked in shock.

"Well, there's not many guys I can trust with my secret. So I've been using it on my boy crush, Tommy. He's been staying over a lot lately..." Tina said with a giggle.

Sarah felt uneasy about her daughter shrinking and experimenting on an unwilling teenage boy. But before she could lecture, Tina continued.

"Here, catch!" She tossed the shrink ray to her mom. Caught off guard, Sarah fumbled it but managed to grab hold.

Sarah looked down at the strange device. It had a trigger on the handle and an emitter on the front. She ran her fingers over it lightly, not sure what to make of it.

"Go on, shrink something! Doesn't matter what. You'll see it really works!" Tina urged.

Sarah hesitated but curiosity took over. She raised the shrink ray and pulled the trigger experimentally. There was a loud zap and a streak of red light blasted out.

"Woah!" Tina jumped in surprise. "Whoa mom, nice shot!"

A shocked squeak came from the corner of the living room. Sarah and Tina looked over to see a tiny Tina-sized pink hamster now sat there. It had been a normal large hamster cage just a moment ago.

"No way... It actually worked..." Sarah whispered in amazement, lowering the shrink ray. The reality of what she held in her hands sunk in. Her daughter had invented a real working ray gun. Not only that, but it could shrink people. And Tina had already used it to experiment on her boy crush behind her back.

Just then, the front doorbell rang, signaling Tommy's arrival. Tina immediately panicked seeing the life-size hamster scampering around. She quickly scooped it up and shoved it behind the couch.
