Talking about distorted solo tones one has to mention Slash's signature high gain style from Guns N' Roses' songs like "November Rain". This iconic sound is fat, warm, expressive woth kind of a “nasal” edge. It's perfect for playing melodic hard rock lead guitar.
With my custom patch you can sound like Slash on a Gibson Les Paul humbacker even on a single coil Strat. Audio is a direct recorded Strat with Fender Tex-Mex Pickups - neck used, but other will work. Try with Tone turned down.
