Fridge Temperature Log Lite

An inspector asks to see your fridge records, and the paper sheet is splashed, half empty and missing initials. This log fixes that: two readings a day, fails turn red, missed checks turn amber, and the month prints on one A4 page.

What it does for you

• Checks every reading for you against the 8°C legal maximum and a 5°C target (both editable): OK, above target or FAIL
• A fail stays red until you write the corrective action, so your record shows what you did
• Flags missed AM or PM checks and readings without initials
• Highlights today's row so staff find it straight away
• Dashboard with checks done, fails, highest reading, missing checks, a to-do list and a month temperature chart
• Prints on one A4 page, with a manager review and sign-off box

How it works (3 steps)

1. Settings: your business name, the fridge name and the first day of the log (about 2 minutes)
2. Fridge Log: type the AM and PM reading and your initials each day. Write the corrective action if a reading fails
3. Dashboard: check fails and missed checks, then print the month for your food safety folder

Good to know

• Cream (pale yellow) cells are for your input. White and grey cells are worked out for you, and the sheets are protected (no password) so formulas are not overwritten by mistake
• Limits follow GOV.UK and FSA guidance: chilled food must be kept at 8°C or below (a legal requirement in England, Wales and Northern Ireland, recommended in Scotland), and fridges should be set to 5°C or below
• One fridge, 31 days per copy. Save a fresh copy of the BLANK file for each fridge and each month
• FAQ: Can I use it on a tablet? Yes, in the Google Sheets app or Excel. A computer is easier for setting up
• FAQ: Can I change the limits? Yes, on the Settings tab. Blank limits fall back to 8°C, 5°C and 0°C
• One licence for your own food business
