The perfect tie for a summer wedding! This smart cotton tie is knitted sideways to help keep it’s shape, with short row shaping to create a classic and wearable tie.
Knitted in Rowan Summerlite DK using 2.75 (US 2) needles to create a relatively firm fabric which works beautifully for a tie.
YARNS
Rowan Summerlite DK in Ocean 459 x2 50g balls.
NEEDLES
2.75mm (no 12) (US 2) 80cm (30½ in) circular needles.
TENSION
27 sts and 55 rows to 10 cm measured over g st using 2.75mm (US 2) needles.
TENSION NOTE
2.75mm needles give quite a firm texture which works nicely for the tie. But if you would prefer a looser, lighter weight fabric you could use Summerlite 4ply. Ensure you do a tension square and change needle size if necessary.

Completed tie measures approx. 146cm (57½ in) long and 5.5cm (21/8 in) wide at widest point.
