Neptune One Case 5: Emergency Landing
Neptune One: Case Five — Emergency Landing
By Lachlan Hazelton
A violent ion storm. A crippled passenger shuttle. Nine minutes to prevent disaster.
When a cosmic blizzard of ionised dust paralyses Neptune One Space Station, the docking systems fail and a massive freighter blocks the only safe approach.
Incoming passenger shuttle Daedalus is carrying a cabin full of civilians—and a deadly threat no one anticipated. When a controlled decompression leaves the pilot incapacitated and the guidance computer destroyed, security officer Simone must take the controls and attempt to bring the damaged shuttle home.
But the docking rail remains dangerously charged. With the shuttle drifting towards disaster, Station Security Manager Beth Baxter faces an impossible choice.
Engineer Kael and security officer Jax must venture outside into the raging ion storm to move the freighter manually. Every second counts, their equipment is vulnerable to electromagnetic surges, and failure will leave Simone with nowhere safe to land.
With station systems failing and time running out, the Neptune One team must combine skill, courage and trust to pull off a rescue against impossible odds.
The storm is closing in. The runway is blocked. And bringing everyone home may be their most dangerous mission yet.
