At the heart of this first part of the series stands Mia, a mostly positive and outgoing 26-year old student, who is left by her partner Paola after three years of relationship.

Her journey back into a normal life is accompanied by the stories of her friends Katja, Daria, Kim and Alba. And when Pati turns up, the group of friends is set in motion more than they would like.

'Do you want more coffee?' Alba asks, trying to catch a glimpse of the

inside of the cup in front of me.

I laugh. 'You've only just brought it to me!'

Alba sighs theatrically and throws herself against the sofa behind her.

She stretches her legs out on the light blue carpet, her toes almost

touching my legs.

Alba: 'I guess I'm looking for a distraction so I don't have to deal with

this stuff here.' She lifts up one of her notebooks and waves it in the air.

I laugh again. 'I have one distraction to offer: talking about my broken

love life.'

She nods seriously. 'That's very generous. I'll gladly accept the

proposition.'

So we push aside our notes and drafts as if to make space on the table

for the drama.

Alba rests her chin on her hand and makes herself comfortable.

'So, what's the status right now? She's really taken the plane now?'
