This pattern isn’t difficult but it is FUN. A slipped stitch with varying solid rows in between allows the yarn do the work and a simple lace repeat at the end adds some contrast. Yarn is carried up the neck edge for the entire project. One color of yarn is worked at a time.

Last 3 pictures show edge where yarn is carried and the back side of the shawl.

The sunsets in Albuquerque, reflecting back on the Sandias are simply beautiful. Get yourself a Golden Pride breakfast burrito, sit back and enjoy the view (or knit in Rhode Island with an Iggy’s clam cake and a Dunkin Donuts coffee and pretend, like I do now.)

This pattern was designed for one skein each of a variegated and solid sock/fingering weight yarn. If you must use two solid colored skeins, I won’t tell.

Final Measurements 73” long at neck edge by 17” deep.

The lace for the border is in both charted and written form.

Requirements
US6 (4mm) needle
2 skeins of sock/fingering yarn, shown in Miss Babs Yummy 2-ply in Deep Sea Jellyfish and Quicksilver. Deep Sea Jellyfish and Slate also look great together
