THE NEED FOR GUIDANCE AND COUNSELING SERVICE AMONG NIGERIA UNIVERSITY STUDENTS

The objectives of this study were to ascertain the level of provision of guidance and counseling services among Nigeria Universities, establish the relationship between guidance and counseling and university students’ performance. The scope of the study is all Nigeria universities, the Eric Erikson’s Psychoanalytic theory of development Model was used as a framework. The specific objectives of this study are to examine the current state of guidance and counseling services; to explore the perceptions of students regarding the effectiveness of the guidance and counseling services provided; to identify the challenges faced by students in accessing guidance and counseling services; to provide recommendations for improving the guidance and counseling services in Ambrose Alli University, Ekpoma. This research consists of a title page, approval page, certification, abstract, List of abbreviation, Chapters One to Five (from introduction to conclusion), references and appendices.
