The French Fluency Blueprint
You probably know more French than you can comfortably use.
You know the vocabulary.
You know the grammar.
You understand what people are saying.
But when it’s your turn to speak, you sometimes hesitate, translate in your head, search for the right structure — or simply run out of things to say.
The French Fluency Blueprint is designed to change that.
Instead of memorising hundreds of isolated phrases or preparing answers word for word, you’ll learn 100 reusable Sentence Engines: practical structures that give you a way to start, develop, connect, nuance, repair and continue your French.
Inside, you’ll learn how to:
- start a response naturally
- express and develop your opinion
- explain causes and consequences
- give examples and support your ideas
- compare and contrast
- add nuance and conditions
- react naturally to another person
- recover when you forget a word
- correct yourself without restarting
- ask for clarification or more time
- keep a conversation moving
- tell stories and describe experiences
- connect several ideas into a complete response
And then you’ll practise turning those structures into your own French.
100 Sentence Engines
The book is organised into 10 progressive families:
01–10 · Trouver son entrée
Start naturally and enter a subject without searching for the perfect opening.
11–20 · Prendre position
State, soften, qualify and develop your point of view.
21–30 · Expliquer
Move beyond stating an idea and explain causes, problems, solutions and effects.
31–40 · Développer
Add precision, examples, evidence and interpretation.
41–50 · Nuancer
Compare, contrast, concede, qualify and reach a more nuanced conclusion.
51–60 · Interagir
React to another person instead of simply delivering a prepared answer.
61–70 · Réparer
Recover from forgotten words, mistakes and incomplete formulations.
71–80 · Garder le fil
Buy time, ask for clarification, redirect and keep speaking.
81–90 · Raconter
Build a story with context, events, reactions and meaning.
91–100 · Aller plus loin
Connect ideas, discuss implications, consider possibilities and build complete responses.
Plus: The Conversational Fix
The second part of the system focuses on what happens when real conversation doesn’t go according to plan.
Because fluent communication isn’t about never making mistakes.
It’s about knowing how to continue when something goes wrong.
You’ll practise how to:
reformulate → correct → clarify → recover → continue
without abandoning your response every time you forget a word or make a mistake.
How to use the Blueprint
Each Sentence Engine is designed to be used, not memorised as a script.
You’ll practise a simple progression:
RETRIEVE → SUBSTITUTE → DEVELOP → COMBINE → REPAIR → REPEAT
Change the content.
Keep the structure.
Build your own sentences.
Then gradually remove the support until the structure becomes available when you actually need it.
This is for you if…
- you’re around B1–B2 in French

- you freeze when you have to answer spontaneously
- you want to develop longer, clearer answers
