Koala Baby hand knitted vest pattern

A close-fitting sleeveless vest knitted flat in stocking stitch with an intarsia colour image on the front, button placket on left shoulder, rib bindings for the neck and armholes. Basic chart reading and a small amount of sewing is required.

Sizes range from newborn up to 24 months.

Gauge for 10x10cm 28 stitches x 36 rows

Fingering weight yarns: Main Colour plus white or cream, mid grey and dark brown.

You have the option of adding kidsilk mohair to make the koala fur more fluffy.

All yardage and stockists are included in the pattern.

Equipment required

3.25mm straight or circular needles

2.75mm circular needle or double pointed needles (DPN) for bindings

2 x 15mm buttons

Darning needle

Open lock stitch markers

Stitch holders or waste yarn to hold stitches not in use.

Measuring tape or ruler
