Primevere (primrose) is one of the first flowers to bloom in spring, but it is also how spring was named in old French.

To design these socks I was inspired by the sock kit proposed by Le Chat qui Tricote.

I imagined spring, light and airy socks, with a pretty lace on the ankle and a picot edge.

These socks are proposed with two options for the heel: a heel with gusset and heel-flap and an afterthought heel.

This pattern is available in 4 foot’s widths (17 (20/23/26) cm / 6¾ (8/9/10¼) inches of circumference) and 21 shoe sizes: (FR) 25, 26, 27, 28, 29, 30, 31, 32, 33, 34, 35, 36, 37, 38, 39, 40, 41, 42, 43, 44, 45 / (US) 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 12.5 13, 1.5, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 6.5, 7, 7.5, 8, 8.5, 9.5, 10, 11.

You will need about 140 (160/190/220) meters / 150 (180/210/250) yards of fingering sock yarn for main colour and 40 (60/90/120) meters / 45 (65/110/150) yards for contrasting colour.
For a solid version, you will need about 180 (220/280/340) meters / 195 (235/320/400) yards.

La primevère, c’est bien sûr une des premières fleurs qui fleurit au printemps, mais primevere (sans accent) c’est aussi ainsi que l’on appelait le printemps en ancien français.

Ces chaussettes m’ont aussi été inspirées par le kit chaussettes proposé par Le Chat qui Tricote.

J’ai imaginé des chaussettes printanières, légères et aérées, avec une jolie petite dentelle sur la cheville et une bordure en dents de chat !

Ces chaussettes sont proposées avec deux talons possibles : un talon renforcé avec gousset ou un talon « après coup ».

Ces chaussettes sont disponibles en 4 largeurs de pieds (17 (20/23/26) cm de circonférence), dont la plus étroite convient à des enfants, et en 21 pointures, du 25 au 45.

Pour les tricoter, il vous faudra environ 140 (160/190/220) mètres de laine à chaussettes fingering pour la couleur principale et 40 (60/90/120) mètres pour la couleur contrastante.
Pour une version unie, comptez environ 180 (220/280/340) mètres.
