Water & Hazards: VR Curriculum Pack (Free Sample)
Turn water and natural hazards from a textbook diagram into something your students can walk through.
In this VR-integrated unit, students begin as explorers of real 360° water systems and hazard-affected landscapes, and finish as planners, coding an interactive hazard-response scenario and pitching a water security or hazard-mitigation recommendation tied to a UN Sustainable Development Goal. It's science, geography, digital creation and community resilience in one arc.
Built as a deliberate "consume → create" gradient: each lesson hands students a little more of the making, so by the capstone they're building and presenting a hazard-response plan they designed themselves.
Students will:
- Explain the water cycle and identify the causes of water-related hazards (flood, drought, cyclone)
- Investigate global and local water security challenges and their human impact
- Analyse how communities prepare for and respond to natural hazards
- Build an interactive hazard-response scenario in Delightex using drag-and-drop CoBlocks coding
- Pitch a water security or resilience recommendation linked to a specific SDG target
What makes it different:
- Real 360° / VR immersion: actual water systems and hazard-affected environments, not clip-art
- Students create, not just consume: a genuine build capstone, not another worksheet
- Cross-curricular: works for both Science and Geography teachers
- SDG-linked: a global-citizenship thread that lifts it beyond content coverage
- No headset required: runs in-browser on Chromebooks and tablets; VR is an optional enhancement
