Boulevardier Socks
“Wouldn’t it be fun,” I thought one night while sipping a cocktail, “to have a series of sock patterns with drinks the same colour as the yarn? And wouldn’t it be neat,” I went on, “if they all had a design element in common, like traveling stitches or little cables?” And so I began to design and knit a Twisted Trilogy of socks. This is the first pair of the set. Check out its siblings, Sapphire Martini and Aviation!
I had some tonal yarn in my stash that's the colour of bourbon, so I chose the Boulevardier to be the matching drink. The Boulevardier Socks have columns of mirrored left and right twists over a stretchy ribbed background, an eye-of-partridge heel flap, and a square heel turn. Of course, you don't have to knit them in dark amber, but the stitch pattern will show up best if you choose a solid or semi-solid yarn.
