What I Want You to Know is a structured guide for capturing the things that do not go in a will.

A will tells your family what happens to your accounts, your house, and the furniture in the guest room. It does not tell them why you kept that photograph in your wallet for forty years. It does not tell them what you actually believe about money, or what you hope they will still be doing together twenty years from now.

This document is for the rest of it.

What is inside:

Section One: Who I Am — The version of yourself your family may not fully know. Your story in your own words, the chapter you are most proud of, the thing people usually get wrong about you.

Section Four: What I Want for You — Not instructions. Not expectations. Hopes — which are different.

Section Five: The Practical Things Nobody Asks About — Where the documents are. Who to call. What to do with the thing in the closet that looks like nothing but matters. The information that always surfaces at the worst possible moment, when no one has the bandwidth to go looking for it.

Section Six: If I Could Say It One More Time — Space for the things you have meant to say. To a partner. To your children. To someone you should have said it to sooner.

This is not a legal document. It is not meant to be filed or notarized. It is meant to be filled in, honestly, and shared with the people who will carry you forward — before or after any formal estate planning conversation.
