Out of Left Field

Marlee's world is turned upside down from literally out of left field.

Marlee McAllister, a pitcher for the Clarksonville Cougars softball team, lives and breathes the game. With the season opener approaching, she and her best friend, Jeri D'Amico, go to scout their rivals, the East Valley Panthers. They're there to scout the Panthers' star pitcher, Christy Loveland, but Marlee can't take her eyes off of left fielder Susie Torres.

Marlee figures out her attraction to Susie is more than a growing friendship. Susie kissing her helps . . . a lot. Between struggling to maintain her grades, keeping secrets from her best friend, and the emotional roller coaster ride that comes with first love, Marlee still has to pitch to win. On top of it all she has to confront the bittersweet realities of what it means to be gay.
