Concepts from the Coach provides meaning and life application for over 101 idioms (the lingo, catchphrases and jargon) of the beautiful game 😀

Concepts from the Coach helps you reflect on and talk about the experiences of your life and is a useful companion resource for those participating in OTM Personal and Group Coaching (OTM07). Concepts from the Coach is also a helpful glossary for those participating in the Tactics Series, especially those who are interested in but unfamiliar with the idioms of the beautiful game ❓⚽💬

An idiom is a phrase, saying, or a group of words with a metaphorical (not literal) meaning, which has become accepted in common usage, e.g. "I am all ears." 👂👂

Where there is shared understanding of their meaning, idioms can be a safe, non-direct way to understand and talk about the human experience. 👫👬👭

For example:

In a rich vein of form

""Things are going very well for you at present. You are consistently producing good results. You are in flow, on fire 🔥 and crushing it. You are enjoying a winning streak, a purple patch, a good run. You are repeatedly bringing your 'A' game.

On the back of the momentum you are having, you are likely to be feeling confident about the next game (challenge/opportunity), and that's a good feeling to have going into the next game. It's important, however, not to take this rich vein of form for granted; you still have to do what you have been doing to be in the form you are in. Don't allow complacency or arrogance to creep in, they have a way of undermining your momentum because they deem preparation to be unnecessary for someone in your position."

Application: "Things are going well right now, every grant application I made in the last 3 months has come back with an offer of funds. I am in a rich vein of form." ⚽🏆😀🥇
