I started composing this piece with no imagery in mind whatsoever. But after about six bars, a poem suddenly came to me: 'Stopping by Woods on a Snowy Evening' by Robert Frost. My six bars seemed to me to evoke something of the same mood as Frost's poem. I continued composing, now with the poem firmly in mind. The whole piece was finished in around an hour.
