Commercial License - Hairy Shrimp
Hairy shrimp are tiny crustaceans (Phycocaris simulans) that resemble a piece of algae, typically growing up to 5mm in size. They are distinguished by the fine, hair-like growths covering their bodies, which help them camouflage against backgrounds like algae and seagrass. These small creatures can be white, red, yellow, brown, or greenish, and their tails are often carried in a distinctive, almost upright position.
