Blackness & Black History I Learned From A Different World

I love, love, love A Different World, from the early days of young college shenanigans to Kim growing in confidence, Whitley and Dwayne’s love story, Freddie’s early activism growing into action in law school, and every beautiful and hilarious moment in between.

I found myself learning something new about Black history, culture, and resilience every time I rewatched. It transcended entertainment, and I learned so much from this show.

I started journaling, taking notes, and researching each time I heard of a person or piece of information that was new to me or that I just wanted to learn more about. It moved me to dig deeper into my culture. Black culture.
