Home of the Wind
Born in Trieste, Italy, and then taken to Sydney, Australia, at the age of two.
Then whisked back to Italy at age nine.
A boy has every right to wonder who he is and where he belongs.
He does not remember the place of his birth, and now suddenly, every experience he does remember belongs to a place firmly set on the other side of the planet.
How will he reconcile these two worlds? And how will he reinvent himself in this new reality?
This is a story of displacement, of clashing cultures, and of the things that shape us, even if we are unaware of their impact when we first experience them.
This story is intended as a looking glass for all the children who have been swept away by unfathomable tides, and of the repercussions of events beyond their control.
It is dedicated to all migrants and all refugees in the hope that they may one day unravel and discover the gifts concealed at the core of their experiences.
