This is a challenging and complex percussion orchestra arrangement of Camille Saint-Saëns' Danse Bacchanale from Samson and Delilah. It is written for 14 percussionists (scroll through preview images for full instrumentation) and calls for all ensemble members to maximize their counting and timing skills. The piece builds energy throughout its 6:15 runtime all the way to the brilliant and exciting finale, making it a perfect concert closer!
All marimba parts will involve fast changes between two and four mallets, and may be played on low F (4.5 octave) or low C (5 octave) instruments. The timpani part involves several tuning changes, all of which are mapped out with notifications in the part. Balancing the ensemble will require plenty of musicianship and ensemble awareness in addition to the ability to play fast and complex parts!
