This first volume opens the Scriptures from the Fall onward, tracing the shape of what was broken in Eden and carried forward through the whole of the Old Testament: exile, longing, and a promise repeated but not yet fulfilled. It is the necessary ground before the Gospel's answer can be received rather than merely heard.
