Magellan Island
Kit Hale and Layla enter an island where ranking, clearance, memory, narrative coherence, and institutional recognition begin to determine not only what citizens may do but which version of experience is allowed to count as real. Records rewrite, voices recur in the wrong mouths, access depends on alignment, and resistance itself can be absorbed into the island's story. The deeper terror is not simple surveillance but the sense of being led by a narrative the characters did not know they were helping to create.
