Sindaci, amministratori e vicende di San Prisco (1816-1860)

Questo lavoro costituisce un contributo importante alla conoscenza della storia di San Prisco e della provincia di Terra di Lavoro in generale. L’indagine storica è svolta in un lungo periodo nel quale è stata esaminata una mole enorme di documenti archivistici e sono state ricostruite le vicende del periodo, sono stati descritti i personaggi locali attori dell’attività politico-amministrativa, le loro famiglie e le loro vite private.

In esso è possibile scorgere, attraverso le vicende locali, il lento avvicinamento verso l’unità d’Italia, attraverso la Carboneria, il periodo rivoluzionario del 1820-21, le varie restaurazioni, il periodo rivoluzionario del 1848 fino alle vicende che portarono all’unità italiana.

This work constitutes an important contribution to the knowledge of the history of San Prisco and the province of Terra di Lavoro in general. The historical investigation is carried out over a long period in which an enormous amount of archival documents were examined and the events of the period were reconstructed, the local personalities involved in political-administrative activity, their families and their private lives were described.

In it, it is possible to discern, through local events, the slow progress towards the unification of Italy, through the Carboneria, the revolutionary period of 1820-21, the various restorations, the revolutionary period of 1848 up to the events that led to Italian unity.
