Meet Dr Afon
Dr Afon is a medical doctor with first-hand experience of navigating the UK healthcare system as a medical student. Prior to starting Medical School she undertook work experience at the Kings College Hospital in London.
Whilst in medical school, she proactively applied for and completed clinical rotations in Internal Medicine with the East Kent Hospitals trust , gaining valuable exposure to clinical practice within the NHS.
Upon graduation from school , She went on to complete an 8 month clinical attachment within the NHS, rotating through four specialties:
- Ophthalmology
- General Surgery
- Obstetrics & Gynaecology
- Accident & Emergency
She has gone on to successfully help other International Medical graduates to successfully get clinical rotations and clinical attachments
Now, she is sharing what she learnt to help medical students and doctors understand how to apply for UK clinical experience, where to look, what to expect and how to make the most of their placement.
