THE CONCEPT OF COUNSELING

God leads through counseling by the Holy Spirit. It is important to use the Word of God in counseling. The truth of God’s Word is found in the Bible and the work of the Holy Spirit, through Jesus Christ. As a counselor you need to lean on the Holy Spirit to help the counselee by growing in submission and must be sensitive to the Holy Spirit. Because the Holy Spirit is the one who can change hearts through the Word of God. God helps the counselee through the Holy Spirit to brings conviction, repentance and regeneration. The Holy Spirit works to drive the seed that is God’s Word deep into the heart where it will take root and produce life. God guides believers through His Word to give them great hope and solution.
