SWJ STORIES · BOOK 1 · A1 🌈📚

Learn Spanish through stories you can actually connect with.

Who said learning Spanish had to be boring? Or that beginner books had to feel like they were written for children?

Welcome to SWJ STORIES, an original collection of graded Spanish readers created by Spanish with Jose for adults who want to learn Spanish through entertaining, meaningful and refreshingly different stories.

Meet Nico, Pablo and Dani, three men navigating life in Madrid, where friendship, unexpected encounters, laughter, a little romance and a few cheeky secrets make everyday life anything but ordinary!

From lazy weekends and colourful markets to surprising discoveries and new connections, you'll explore their world while gradually building your Spanish vocabulary.

And yes, these stories are proudly gay-friendly, featuring LGBTQ+ characters and authentic adult situations. Because learning Spanish should also mean finding stories that reflect who you are.

📖 More than just a storybook

SWJ STORIES is a carefully structured Spanish learning experience.

Its main objective is to help you understand, remember and use Spanish vocabulary naturally, rather than simply memorising endless lists of words.

Through ten interconnected stories, you'll discover new vocabulary in context, revisit familiar words in different situations and gradually develop the confidence to read more independently.

And you don't need a teacher sitting beside you to enjoy it!

✨ What makes SWJ STORIES different?

✅ 10 interconnected stories: Follow memorable characters through everyday adventures, surprises and unexpected twists.

✅ Graded A1 Spanish: Language carefully structured for beginner learners, with gradual progression towards A1+.

✅ British English support: Bilingual reading assistance that gradually decreases as your Spanish develops.

✅ Visual vocabulary guides: Realistic photographs and carefully organised vocabulary covering nouns, adjectives, verbs and useful expressions.

✅ Vocabulary that actually sticks: Discover words in context and encounter them again throughout the stories.

✅ Creative challenges and activities: Practise reading comprehension, grammar and vocabulary through engaging tasks.

✅ Independent learning: Read, explore and practise at your own pace, whether you're studying alone or taking Spanish lessons.

✅ Authentic, inclusive storytelling: Adult characters, LGBTQ+ representation, humour, friendship and a touch of cheekiness.
