Knit this Reversible One Row Pattern!

Combine all your sock yarn leftovers into the **Scrappy Version** or enjoy the colour flow of the **Gradient Version**.  

The “IF” command is used extensively in computer programming to simplify complex tasks. This command specifies a condition; the program does one thing if the condition is met and something else otherwise.

The (Un)Conditional Love Blanket uses a conditional knit stitch (Cond-K) and a conditional purl stitch (Cond-P). When working these stitches, look at the next stitch on your needle, IF it’s the same colour as your working yarn you work it otherwise you slip it.

Why do this? To create a 3 colour, reversible scarf with a DIFFERENT colour pattern on each side using the SAME stitch pattern for every row!

This sounds strange! Does this make it easier? Can I do it? You follow conditional instructions every day. You stop at a red light and go on green. It feels automatic. These conditional stitches will feel automatic within a few rows. Watch how it’s done!

Gradient Version

Yarn: 2 colours of 2 skeins each of DK weight yarn & DK weight gradient set with total yardage of at least 2 skeins of DK weight yarn

Yardage: 488 yds/ 446 m of each colour & gradient

Gauge: 22 sts and 48 rows in 4 in/ 10 cm worked in garter stitch

Finished Size: Width 37 in/ 94 cm; Length 32 in/ 81 cm

Recommended Yarn: Marianated Yarns Practicality DK Mango Blast, Hidden Peak & Fairy Tale Gradient

Scrappy Version

Yarns: 2 colours of 2 skeins each of DK weight yarn & fingering weight scrap totally twice the yardage of each other colour

Yardage: 488 yds/ 446 m of 2 DK weight colours & 1000 yds/ 914 m of fingerweight scrap

Gauge: 22 sts and 48 rows in 4 in/ 10 cm worked in garter stitch; working 1 row each of Colour A, Colour C and holding 2 yarns of Colour B together.

Finished Size: Width 37 in/ 94 cm; Length 32 in/ 81 cm

Recommended Yarns: Marianated Yarns Practicality DK in Morning Mist & Torrential Downpour; Practicality Fingering weight scraps in an assortment of colours.
