Only with the collapse of the Soviet Union did Belarus finally emerge as a sovereign state, ending centuries in which its people had lived under foreign-dominated political systems while repeatedly resisting cultural, religious, and imperial control.

For this video, I’ve gathered the raw genomes of 10 ethnic belarusians from the human origins harvard dataset. I used academic tools such as admixtools 2, but also amateur tools, such as my Trait Predictor, Andreimix, and mageplot, to analyze these samples.
