This collection is a compilation of the most popular musical pieces for grade 1 in Russian music schools. All songs have a vivid visual image, which attracts the interest of a young novice pianist and helps develop creative imagination. This music will sound good on stage during the student's first concert.
It is assumed that the student is already familiar with the basic techniques of playing the piano and understands the meaning of various symbols, such as legato, staccato and accent. None of the pieces require that the hands be in position C or G or F, which is more typical for the Russian elementary piano school than for the American one. Nevertheless, despite some difficulties in reading this music, it is believed that the student will quickly master the entire space of the keyboard and get more auditory experience. If we compare the importance of the two piano skills of reading music and expressive performance, then for the first months of training, here preference is given to the second. Therefore, the help of a teacher will be needed here and very valuable - he can demonstrate how to play those sections that are difficult to read. Naturally, in the future, the student will continue his training in reading music and will soon be able to deal with everything on his own.
An analogy with the development of the ability to speak in children will be appropriate here:
the child first learns to speak, and only a few years later - to read.
As an additional help for learning this music, we offer a video recording on our YouTube chanel, where each piece is demonstrated as it should sound on stage.
