This translation of the Psalms is designed to move you from the poetry of the Psalms into God’s purpose of our experience with Himin the Tehilla. The Hebrew word “Tehilla” is the place where God inhabits the one who is genuinely praising from the heart. It was the heart of David that caused Him to move the heart of God during intimate moments of praise and worship. This collection of 150 songs contains in them all of the various forms of praise and worship that God accepts from those who love Him. While the gathering and application of these God glorifying works is attributed to God’s Beloved, David, the authorship is a collaborative anthology originating from Adam, Melchizedek, Abraham, Moses, David, Solomon, Asaph, and three sons of Korah. While their names are important God used their names to reveal a deeper desire for intimacy from His heart. While many chapters cry out in lament, tragedy, or despair, the goal of the psalms is to bring the praiser back to praise and trust in God with his whole heart. The Book of Psalms concludes with a massive crescendo—specifically Psalm 150—where every verse declares, "Let everything that hath breath praise the Lord. Hallelujah!"
