Eastern Barred Bandicoots are a threatened species in Tasmania. They are vulnerable to predation by feral cats. We were surprised and saddened to see three live babies (all female) curled up together on our lawn one morning, their mother having perished nearby. We took them to a nearby animal sanctuary, where two of them survived. Bandicoots dig for grubs and we welcome them on our farm as they keep down pests in our pasture.
